Marc Picornell
Founder & CTO · Principal Architect
Marc is a cloud and cybersecurity architect with more than 15 years designing, securing, and industrialising cloud across public, private, and hybrid environments. He sets Alcor’s technical direction and leads its most demanding engagements.
His work spans multi-cloud landing zones, Zero-Trust security architecture, and the Cloud Centres of Excellence that let teams move fast without losing control. The approach starts with the right question rather than a clever answer — turning complex systems into decisions a board can act on.

Experience
Founder & CTO
Senior, independent cloud & security advisory. Currently leading cybersecurity engineering and architecture for a 100,000+ employee French group — cloud security audits, landing-zone delivery, Zero Trust and hub-and-spoke design, and FinOps optimisation.
Cloud & Security Architect · Head of Cloud Centre of Excellence
Founded the Cloud Centre of Excellence and its security, governance, architecture and FinOps frameworks. Defined the enterprise Azure migration strategy; designed multi-cloud DNS, connectivity and identity across Azure, GCP and OCI; migrated regulated PCI-DSS workloads from VMware to Azure Kubernetes Service.
Senior Cloud & Security Architect · Head of Cloud Centre of Excellence
Defined the AWS IAM and account strategy and deployed the AWS landing zone to the Well-Architected Framework. Set cloud-security strategy on NIST and ENISA; governed a 140-service cloud register; redesigned virtualised networking for a €450K saving.
Senior Cloud & Security Architect
Led a multidisciplinary Agile team building highly available AWS and Google Cloud platforms — including NLP-driven customer-care and data platforms. Mentored founders at STATION F, and ran IoT and 5G R&D for Bell Labs and EIT Digital.
Senior Cloud Solution Architect · European Lead Technologist
Led five senior architects delivering NFV platforms on OpenStack and Intel hyperscale for a €7M programme. Designed the NFV architecture and SDN leaf-spine fabric, supporting the first HDS 8000 deployment for Swisscom.
Account CTO · Open Source Technologist
Part of the Office of the CTO on HP's largest outsourcing account (Alcatel-Lucent), working across 29 countries. Approved the enterprise architecture for a 150,000-server transformation into six data centres and a private cloud, and owned the innovation roadmap.
